Anyone running 325 width tires in the back?
 

I tried a search to no avail, so here goes. I'm looking to purchase wheels that have 325/35/20 Michelins on the rear wheels. They are 20x10.5 and have a 35+ offset. Seller claims that there is no issue of rubbing either on any suspension parts inside nor on the fenders. Do you believe it?

Just get the 315's which are the stock size and call it a day. whats 10mm? Do you have a size issue you need to deal with?

It's a slightly used set, which comes with the tires already mounted. That's why I'm asking. Size issue? I'm 6ft, 180lbs.

With an All Wheel Drive vehicle, you DON'T want to mess too much with running different rolling diameters between axels (front and rear). 325/35/20 will put the rears at a slightly LARGER rollering diameter than the stock front, 275/40/20. Whether or not it will affect how the drive train will wear...do you really want to take a chance? Not worth the risk...just get the proper size tire.

Wider tires than the wheels needs are bad for handling in corners. Tires tend to roll more. Thats why europian tuners like to stretch the side wall.

all of your comments make sense. thank you for your responses. I haven't decided what I want to do yet. My X5 is leased, so I'm not sure I care about the excess wear. I may push the seller to give me a good price so I can replace the rear tires though. thanks again!

Seriously, you are willing to sacrifice drive train for few saved $$$ in tires :loco:
Isn't it in lease agreement that you have to take care of the car and not deliberately brake it.
Well, this is one of the things I'm not too keen on bying used cars that have been leased before.

Don't do it, too much to risk - for what gain. I agree with fiber46is, this is a reason to stay away from used lease cars.
