no i wasnt, i was just saying that 3200 pounds seems a bloody lot to spend i have a 4.8 and all i did was change pads to the porterfield r4-s and use the s/s hoses i find the brakes to be more than okay. yours looks great but was expensive i had a 3.0 in 2001 but cant really remember how it drove. i also agree doesnt matter engine size 120-0 is still 120-0

This is how it starts! You'll tease the info out of me then you'll crush my soul with your sharp rebuke over how much it cost!! I bet you do that to your Mrs when she comes back from shopping??

The ones I chose were the biggest rotors I could get (405mm) with 8 pots, Brembos are 380mm but they wouldnt fit my wheels without spacers, which I wouldnt want or hub enlargement. They were also a good make of high quality with good feedback as a brand. Difficulty was in my research was there was little feedback for the X5. I remember one US company advertising AC Schnitzer big brakes, ACS dont make brakes for the X5 so the point is you have to be very careful.

The pads are porcelain so there is NO brake dust, just road dust, its amazing everytime I look at my wheels after driving all day they are almost spotless. I still cant take it in as I never had these type of brakes on a car before.

I am well chuffed.

What brand are the brakes? I don't think said the brand name. Are the porcelain brake pads the same make? Very interested in those!

Oh, what the hell does chuffed mean?????:D

Hi PeteM, very nice looking X. Can I just get the brake pads (porcelain ) and install this in my X. I'm having a hard time keeping my wheels clean - brake dust.
