3.0 ver 3.0 D

Hello all,

Its abit cheeky as the question is regarding the BMW 3.0 Petrol and 3.0 Turbo Diesel Engine and it would not be in an X5 but an E39 Touring.

The thing is, you guys and girls give great timely responses unlike some other BMW sites. So please excuse the E39 touring element.

The question is which engine is more powerful taking into account the 3.0TD would get a chip tweak?

I hear the diesel has great torque

Thanks for your help,

B

Definitely the diesel mate, once you chip that up with a superchip or the like the torque is awesome from the off.

There is some talk of it on www.X5drivers.co.uk, search on there. There is also a company in London who have advertised on that site giving some discounts. But if you go with superchip use the guy in Uxbridge. Anyway have a look you'll see the specs in detail in terms of BHP and Torque etc.

Well, this is an easy one, go for the diesel!
;)
Much better MPG and lots of torque, and if you use a superchip or any other chip, it's not only a cruiser, but a torque monster as well.
Bevare of transmisson thought...
:)
