Headlights - Mounting Tabs Broken
 

The tabs on the top of my headlights were broken at some point in the X5's previous ownership. I want to replace the broken parts. From what I have seen from reading the Articles section and realoem.com (I spend way to much time on there!!!) it looks like to get my headlights like new again I need to replace the entire headlight.

Is there a way to purchase a new back piece and put my working headlights into it? Will I be able to buy just the back from a recycler??

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!!!!!

You may be able to find something out there, perhaps on ebay. From the looks of your pics, I'd say your headlights were stolen in it's previous life!

That is what I thought except on the passenger side the tabs were broken and reglued and on the drivers the tabs are gone. Looks like the X took a hit to the front end.

I really want to get my X5 back to like new. I have an email into Bavarian Auto parts to see if I can purchase just the back of the headligh housing. I know BMW does not sell the part separately, just the entire headlight.

No way to get just the back. I tried to get just a front lens with the part# and was told it was not available either here or in Germany. You could pick up a set on ebay but be sure it lists the condition of the tabs.

I thought I saw a post listing replacement tabs for sale. I have been surfing the web for far too many hours now looking at headlights...... (some obscure deer reference would work well here)

No Bmw is selling those tabs,I'll give you the part number if your local stealer don't have it I will provide that just pay for shipping and pm me.

Ekaz u d man! That is where i saw the tabs posted for sale!!!!! It wasn't a headlight fixin mirage!!!

Why does Hyejack say the kit is rare? Has anyone else tried to order it?
