TV on the move
Hi
Have just bought a Sept.2005 X5 which I love to death. Now would like to sort out a few minor niggles - so this is my very first post. I know that you can buy cables on eBay to keep the TV working on the move but my local garage tells me they can 'reprogram' the TV to stay on without any interference with any hardware. Any you guys got any ideas on the subject. I don't really want to pay £60 odd to a garage for what might be a very simple job. Hope someone can help John :) |
Sometime You Just Have To Pay For The Job . If You Really Want It To Be The Ways You Like It.

I'm not aware of a way to do this without having some sort of hardware device that intercepts the i-bus signal that controls this.

To reprogram the TV you need this .
The TV-Activator is designed for BMW The ignition must be switched on before programming of the TV-Activation and switch off the ignition afterwards. The programming lasts about 10 sec. The application of the diagnostic connections: The round 20-pin connection is used predominated in models with both diagnostic sockets, in this cars the OBD-2 socket is only connected to the ECU only for Emissions.

Also with them, you can hold down the > button to disable the feature when you take the car for a service. Then press it again to turn it back on. :-) |
