Rear hatch doesn't open help!
 

The rear door does not open when you press the rubber are by the license plate. It will only open when using the remote. Anyone have any ideas on fixing this?

UPDATE: For some reason, it is now working, thank goodness. First I had the hatch open via remote and while the hatch was up, I decided to press the rubber area to unlock it. I was able to hear the unlocking noise and thought it was working now. I shut the hatch and now it works whenever I open it that way.

The rear gate release has been known to be a problem part. There have been several threads on this. You will likely need to replace it eventually.l

the rubber button is jammed it happened to me twice, people tring to open the trunk when its locked..
