How's the 4.8is in the snow?
 

New owner of 4.8is and I want to get some winter wheels and tires. I'm going to stick w/20's. I did this on my Touareg and it was just fine...but I have staggard rims and those 315's may be a bit wide for winter driving, even though Toyo and Hankook and Michelin make all season tires in that size. Looks are important, worried about the way it'll look w/20x9.5" rims all the way around becuase of the flared fenders in the rear. Any advice from other 4.6/4.8is owners?

I have the same issue. I want to just replace the rubber for this winter because I have a Ford F150 if it gets terrible out.
Do you have links to the Toyo, Hankook and Michelin winter tires that fit on the 4.8is stock rims?

I now tire rack sell the Michelin Latitiudes in a 315/35/20 for the rears and 275/40/20 for the fronts. I also saw on 1010 tires that there's a Toyo Proxis ST in that size, both are rated all season. But I wonder if you can really get by w/either in a Illinois winter???

What shoes are you running in the Rockies??

The rubber makes big difference in snow. I use 18" Dunlop Wintersport with 30mm H&R spacers in rear. Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow are also good for 20".

Where did you get the spacers? That was my concern that it would look dorky becuase of the rear wheels. Are using spacers really a safe thing to do on a 5000 lb truck?

Love the Scorpions...but I run them on OEM 18's.

I have used them for 2 seasons and no issues. There are few others here who also use 30mm spacers. I bought them from Evosports for $158.

I believe Nokian makes 20's, you should check those out...
