CJ, Kevin - I totally agree w/you guys on the hood grills - but what do you think about the bumper grills? I don't really dislike the OEM plastic grills, but to me they just look like a cheap plastic relplica of the real thing. Wouldn't the real thing look better in the bumper? I haven't see RaceMesh products in person, but it looks like the real stuff in pictures anyhow....

I dont think mesh would look good. I see the look you're going for, and I think it would look awesome, but I'm not feeling the mesh on any part of the car... You could do better.

I suppose that genuine stainless mesh under the bumper would look okay. The thing that comes to mind is that the blinginess of the Race Mesh might look unbalanaced against the rest of the facade, drawing more attention to the lower section. Also, the Race Mesh is a tighter mesh than the stock piece. Perhaps if they had a brushed finish it would blend in better while looking just a little different/better than the OEM plastic piece.

Yeah - very good point. I don't think chrome is the answer either, but I believe a few different finishes would be possible. I think something maybe black-annodized would look good (especially on my black sapphire X) - perhaps maching the black-chrome OEM tail pipes would make it a bit more understated & classy looking...

Perhaps my opening statement wasn't clear enough. I didn't say hey what do you think of mesh grills? I said there were individuals (in two other threads) inquiring as to mesh options. RaceMesh is far from tacky garbage. As someone who races Porsches and Bimmers, mesh is quite popular and some (myself included) like to replicate the look on our daily drivers. This is no different than those who like encircling their headlights with neon donuts, adding GMC-like bullet running boards or install an M wheel on a non-M vehicle... different strokes for different folks. And by the way, you don't have to cut a gaping hole in the grill to access the engine bay.

Now, for those interested in RaceMesh please let me know and I will inquire as to quanity pricing.

I am interested.

How does one access the hood release without a hole? It would look way better this way than the one example I saw with a big hole.

BTW, I might be interested in some black anodized race mesh for my Boxster. The OEM grilles have taken some rock hits and are looking a little weathered. Plus, as you probably know, leaves do get up in there and can block the radiators. Do you have any info on that? I've seem some mesh grilles but nothing I really like.

I'm interested, RSZ, in a race mesh just for my 2004 bumper, in a finish that closely matches the black-chrome tail pipes.

To each his own, I would like to replace my bumper grills with these. I wouldnt replace my kidney grills however.

I am sourcing a mesh for putting into my bumper. If this guy can sell that to me let me know.
