Drip, drip – Water leak?

Hi guys,

Lately, I’ve noticed that water drips from under the car. I always thought it was water from the AC compressor. I mean it happens in all cars right? Ok, I’ll admit I always thought the condensation was rather much:confused:. When parked for say 30mins, it would leave a patch the size of a basketball.
Yesterday on the way back home, I got stuck in traffic and the guy in the car next to me told me I had a leak. I didn’t panic and just said it was condensation from the AC. Now this is the second time in 2 months I’ve had a similar comment.

Is there something I should check? Should I take to dealer? Thanks guys.:)

So long as it is indeed water, it's normal for puddles to gather underneath the AC unit, especially on humid days. The more humid it is, the bigger the puddle.

Gotcha:thumbup: I'm just gonna have to confirm it is water.
I did a search and some other members had similar issues but no definate answers.

It probably is just your AC - I've noticed that my X drips more AC condensation than most other vehicles I've owned - perhaps because the X's AC is so much better! I'd definitely check to make sure it is that though - just for peace of mind...

Men, I hope you're right. Will get back with an update later:)

After all, what else could produce water in your car.
You could drive a few days without using the AC and see if there's still water dripping.

If you get water dripping on your feet from under the dash, you should be concerned. I've had that in the past due to clogged drains from the condenser. The dealer can quickly and easily blow them out, so not a huge problem to fix (thankfully).
