Question: Is my SA on crack?
A few days ago I e-mail my service advisor about retrofitting OEM BMW xenons. He e-mailed me back saying it can't be done. He said there were too many components. He said it could possibly be done without the self-leveling component, but then it wouldn't be legal. I thought it could be done, but... I'm often wrong.
This leads me to another question... Are my new lights going to be legal? How come some aftermarket company can do something my dealer cant do? |

you do lose the leveling feature when retrofitting OEM Xenons, or unless do you it with the sensors.

All aftermarket HID's are techincally illegal b/c do do not have the auto-leveling feature. Just aim your lights correctly and you'll be fine...I put aftermarket HID's on my M3 and didn't have isseus with authorities

Are you sure they're illegal? Our Volvo has bi-xenons and they're not auto-leveling. Maybe it explains why they're aimed so low? |

I'm actually retro-fitting Xenons onto my X5 tomorrow. :)
I went to the dealer to get various parts for it, and they were cool about it, they said many have come there and done the same thing. |
