Help : Ground Clearance Issues with the X5

Hi All,

I took my new X5 3.0d offroad yesterday on some sandy tracks and felt that it didnt meet my expectations. The hills were not the steepest, the sand wasn't particularly tricky but the X5 struggled. Things improved dramatically after switching off DSC, but ground clearance issues were still unavoidable. In fact I did damage the front mud flaps.

Question is - can I do anything to improve the ground clearance (which I found too low compared to the other SUV's)? Different / Higher / tyres sited to beach / sand driving? Any other suggestions or anybody want to share their offroad experience?
