2005 X5 4.8is BMW assist

I am trying to purchase a 2005 X5 4.8 from an individual about 300miles away from me. I am going to fly out on Monday to pick it up, but...

We are having trouble figuring out if the car has BMW Assist and Bluetooth or not...the seller is out of town and not near the car.

Was BMW assist standard in 2005? Bluetooth? I have a picture of the original sticker, but no mention of it.

HELP!

Thanks,

Tom

The 2005 X5s have both bluetooth and BMW assist module. Congrats! and post pics when you get it.

thanks for the quick response

I am excited about it...I keep going back and forth in my head between picking up a 05 4.8 and waiting for a new one next month. Seems like the cost factor is similar, but I like the E53s alot and the 4.8 is beautifull.

Since this is the E53 forum I would imagine everyone prefers it to the new, but thoughts?

I will post pix either way!

Depends on date of manufacture. I believe they added that after 06/2005 prod. date. Not sure though.

Thanks

Anyone else have a 4.8 with or without it?

I have a 9/05 build with it

I have an '06 and it has voice, bluetooth, and BMW Assist. You will love the car. The engine has more power, the brakes are bigger, and you get the 20" tires too, plus nav., DSP, etc. An all around high performance machine. I know the new X is coming out soon, but it will undoubtedly have its issues as all new models do, and it will take a while for a comparably equipped package to come out for a decent price. Keep the 4.8 for a few years and enjoy. then see how the new ones turn out.

I have a 06/05 build and mine has both.

Hi

Just wondering if voice module is added as standard in a 09/2005 4.4 model as well.

Thanx
Kostas

Pick It Up Tomorrow!!!

I am getting on airplane tomorrow to fly out to AZ to get the car. I will have a 6 Hour drive to get to know her.

I will post some picks tomorrow night. I am giving up my M3 in the next couple months and hope to get an E92 M3 next summer. These cars/trucks truely are fantastic...

Wish me luck,

Tom

I have a 3/05 and have both Assist and Bluetooth, but no voice.

I just did the same!

I just bought an '05 4.8is (16,000 miles) have yet to update everybody on the board and post Pics but I will...I promise! :D

Anyway, mine's an 03/05 build and it does NOT have voice recognition, it does have BT/Assist though.

Incidentially (as some may remember) I was trying to decide between it and an '07 model, for now I'm happy with my decision... I think I will remain happy. :)

I got mine yesterday...

It is a 2005, August build, and it has assist/bluetooth and VR for the phone only. I am not sure about MP3 CDs in the changer yet.

I will post pics soon...what a fun drive from Pheonix to San Diego...
