all season tires
Hello, I have a 02 x5 and live in nyc.Can anyone recommend some good
all season tires?.The OEM Mitchelins are not the best in the snow.I dont want to buy a separate set of winter tires. Thanks for any response. |
Probably the best resource is www.tirerack.com which rates all tires according to size. It also gives specific ratings according to wet/ dry / winter performance. I am looking to replace my oem Michelin Energy which are terrible in snow. The Yokohama Geolander look like a good all around tire from the review. There are some newer triple tread designs which are better for allseason like the Goodyear Fortera.

I have had good experience in the snow (up to 18 inches) with Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico which is sold at Tire Rack and they do have it in 19 inch wheel sizes.

Nothing like the Nokian WR's, excellent for all season, just put them on one of my cars.

I've had Yokohama Geolanders on for 2 years. Great all weather tire. I only had them on 2 weeks when we got 12" in CT. Had fun in a private parking lot! 12" of freash snow did not exist!

I'm running the Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico's on my 01' 4.4 SP. They have worked well on 6" of snow and slippery winter conditions. My first set wore out in about 25K miles. They are M+S rated which is required in California.

I second the Yokohama Geolanders, great tires for the money and are much better at everything compared to the mich energy.

thanks to all for your responses!!
