Need U.S. 4.8is running board help.

Hey how's it going guys, I just picked up my brand new x5 4.8is; and I absolutely love it!!! I have been trying to figure out how people have been able to install the silver oem running boards on the 4.8isses. The ones I found are only for the 3.0 or 4.4s...however, when I e-mailed steve recently he told me it was b/c the part numbers were different. Does anyone know what the silver oem running board part number is for the 4.8is? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :dunno:

Congratulations on your new 4.8is.

The part #s for 4.8is aluminium running boards are
Running boards 51 71 0 017 315
Flares 51 71 7 051 035
Flares 51 71 7 051 036
Flares 51 71 7 051 037
Flares 51 71 7 051 038

You will have to change the flares.
They part#s are also listed on the main xoutpost.com page in the 2005 accessory catalog.
If you are doing it yourself, you will need the rivets and the rivet gun
Rivet gun and the rivets -> part # 51 71 7 002 953

What is the color of your 4.8is?
Post pics of your new ride.

You only need the front fender flares (51-71-7-051-037 and -038) if you want your 4.8is look like the European version. Otherwise, you won't need them. The US version only comes with the rear fender flares.

The Aluminum Running Boards are the same for 3.0, 4.4, and 4.6is or 4.8is. Like LeMansX5 said, you just need to buy the extra fender flares for your 4.8is because though the ones came with the running boards will fit the 4.8is, they are not the wider flares like the ones that came standard on your 4.8is.

And do buy the extra rivets if you plan to do it yourself. They break easily and you can use the extra ones.
