Sticky Throttle Pedal
2001, 3.0i...
Throttle pedal is sticky. I do not mean the engine surges, or that someone spilled a beer on the pedal... it just seems that if I have been at a steady speed and need to press down a little, it seems sticky. I know we have a "fly-by-wire" system, but can I safely spray lubricant on the shaft without fear of interference with the electronics? Should I try to pry out the rubber seals around the accelerator pedal shaft or what? |

This was about all I found like your problem. |
Thanks for looking noncom... I did the same... nope, this is a physical, tactile feel of sticking- not being smooth... feels mechanical- I just don't want to go sparying stuff around- I don't know what's under that rubber gasket/seal.
anyone with a parts maual? |
Yeah. Sorry. May need the stlr if no one here has it. Check with "the cleaner".

Anyone out there with a manual that will tell us what's under the rubber seals under the gas pedal?
|
There's a tsb on this. Our pedal assembly was replaced under warranty.
