Chrome 4.6is Wheels
 

Anyone got photos of chrome 4.6is alloys on their X? I decided to stick with the original wheels rather than change to the 4.8 wheel as my old thread suggested that most prefer the 4.6 wheels. So I was planning on having them refurbed and chrome plated and just wanted to see what a set looks like on the X5.....

Griza has 20" chrome on his imola red 4.6is. They look great on red color. I have seen them in person. I believe he did post the pics a while ago. You may have to search.

Now that has just taken me back to that start again!!!!! With a slight difference.........Do I go for 4.8is Chrome or 4.6is Chrome!!!

Of course I'm bais, but I think the 4.8 wheels have the perfect combo displaying class and being aggressive.

Are those the comfort seats?
Is it possible to retrofit a set into my 2001 sport.
Those wheels look good in chrome.

Just curious about the price. New upgrade for non chrome with tires to 19", is $4000.00 at my dealer.

To chrome, or not to chrome, that is the question? It may look a bit blig and gangsterish in N.I. but that said, the link to the silver X with the chromed 4.8 wheels do look really well. I'm getting my wheels painted, but the best way I can describe them is like a black effect through the alloy colour. Like black chrome only alloy chrome, if that makes any sense!

I know most don't agree. I think its looks great! Prob look blingy on black.

Nope, still don't like the look of the 4.8 rims. 4.6 rims all the way!!!

Can't say I dislike the 4.6 rims. I'm glad people differ in opinion or we'd all look uniform out there. ;)
I have yet to see another set of chrome 4.8 rims on the road.

Really don't see either around here where I live. SO when i do, whether it's a 4.6, 4.8 or just any X5, my head turns! The X5 around here isn't very common at all, and even more so the 4.6/8is.;)

As to the wheel difference between the 4.6/8is. I wouldn't change from either! Both are great looking wheels. This will be my first vehicle in a long time that won't have aftermarket wheels!

Sorry guys just not feeling the chrome. i think that should be left to the escalades.

Now these are wheels, none of that chrome crap

I think chrome works well on grey (steel) maybe even white. However, I'm not feeling chrome and black. looks too 'blingy' to me. X's are common in LA and the chrome can really add to some character to some. But IMO, black just doesen't do anything for me.
