new update on my 4.8 do you agree

ok to make the long story short. I was all ready to get my 4.8 I even posted you guys and gals some pics. I made an agreement with the dealer that had it (porsche dealer) and everything was good, financing, price everythign was worked out, which took two weeks. by the way this was mostly online and on the phone, however I did go see the vehicle. anyway I tell teh sales assoc, ok deals made hold the vehilce till monday and I will be in to finalize and take delivery. he said I will try but we can thold, I said do you need a deposit, he says we dont take deposits. he said I can hold for 24 hours, I said well hold it till monday I will be in.
low and behold I see the car online for sale agian.
so I told them never mind I dont want the truck.
my reasoning is this, we made a deal and came to an agreement on everything, but they are still activly trying to sell the truck.
so onver the weekend when I finalize my sutff(selling my boat at a loss non the less) I go in monday and the vehicle is gone and I sold my boat for nothing, but anyway its seems to be a one sided agreement.
I have never seen a deal say they cant hold a vehicle before in my life.
after I told them I didnt want it the manager called and tried to explain taht he could not hold it cause he had to have it listed over the weekend in case I didnt come in yada yada yada. he was kinda dumb
comments please am I alone?

Everyone I dealt with took a check and held the car.

I agree, money talks.... either that or put your signature on the contract with a clause giving you until Monday to do whatever you needed to do.. that way they knew you were for real and you had made a commitment.

There is always a way if you need to.

On a lighter side, I believe in fate/karma/the universe and often find that something I am about to buy gets sold just as I have made a decision to go and buy it. I then find something better and look back with thanks that I had to wait......

I would think it strange that Car would be held without deposit but if he told you that.Do you have any witnesses when he told you this ? I think maybe the best you n hope for is a good deal on another car. I am afraid most porsche dealers are Ars*H** that is why I bought a BMW got fed up with the SH*T

The main thing is I guesss, that I asked if I needed to put a deposit down and he said they dont take deposits, that is what I have never heard of. Also the last few cars I bought the dealers had no problems holding them(with no deposit). When I ordered my car in 2004 I gave them 200 check that they never did anything with but ordered my car and held it for me, it jsut doesnt make sense.
When the mangager called me afte 15 minutes of yada yada, he said fine I will take a non refundable $1000 deposit to hold it till monday. I told him I already decide not to buy it cause you went back on our previous agreement, anyway we will see what happens. I also told him that is the car is still there and I come in monday we are going to have to renegotiate since the car is still being sold and our prior agreement is not good. so now they will have to sell it to me for less, hey.. its been on the market longer value going down.

Good luck, I would'nt buy it unless they gave you a cheaper price!

I think you will not get anywhere with this course of action. If you really want to play that game discontine negotiations at this juncture and see if they still have it in a month from now. It's a risk but you may then be able to get it at a lower price. In the mean time you can shop for other 4.8's.

Bottom line is... sounds like the guys at the dealership ara some real dousche bags so I would tell them where they can stick their 4.8 and take my business elsewhere!

Put some posts up here about wanting to buy a 4.8 (you probably already have). Twist someones arm into selling you their X5!!! I wish I had bought my 4.6 from one of the guys on here. I do not think you will find cleaner or better taken care of X5's than the X5 World members own!!!

Good luck!!!

I think they just sold it anyway.
