adaptive headlights
 

I have the bi-xenon headlights. Is there any way to make this an adaptive one? Like adding a module or something? Or should I change the whole headlight assembly?

There is something you can get in order to have adaptive headlights. It's called the E70 X5. :D

That's the only way you'll get adaptive headlights on an X5. Sorry.

Not true I have a 2005 driver side Xenon Headlight with the adaptive feature.

I've got something called "automatic headlamp control*" in my 2002 X.

In the manual it says : When the switch is set to this position the system automatically activates or deactivates the low beams in response to changes in ambient light (in tunnels, at dusk, etc.) as well as in rain and snow. (page 100 in the 3.0 manual)

And that you can have the sensitivity of this function adjusted.

late build '04's and newer have adaptive xenon's.

I am sure there is a way to install the adaptive headlights but as with everything else, the cost would be huge....they use all sorts of inputs to control the angle of movement / yaw control ect so I'm sure it would be more cost effective to buy an x5 with adaptive headlights installed

Nopes, you are talking about the headlamp leveling system. Adaptive is theose headlights that move according to the direction of the steering wheel :)

Mine's an '04 but as with all models that come to the Philippines, they are all watered down to reduce cost. we paid 100,000usd plus for a diesel and it came WITHOUT adaptive lights, rain sensing wipers, DSP, sunroof, aluminum running boards, power folding mirrors.:mad:

yes, that's true but we don't have the luxury to buy and sell x5's here in our country hehe:) . And besides, all models here have the same philippine standard equipment :) . I was driving to the province last night wwith winding roads and I just wished I had adaptive headlights for the curves :)
