Rotor replacement?
 

I'm up for a set of front rotors as they are starting to pulse with braking. Is there a heavier grade set to consider? I don't want to replace my calipers. Are there any tricks needed for replacement or do the rotors come off easily? Thanks

I believe rotors and calipers are matched - if one's not made to work with the other, it's bumper car time - there has to be someone out there who knows more than me - but if you're thinking thicker rotors and/or bigger dia, then you definitely need calipers to match - if you're thinking slotted or drilled or both vs oem solid, then as long as they are oem replacements, it should work - personally, brake job is one of the things I leave to the experts

You can't change rotor dimensions, so you are playing around with very small variables such as internal cooling fin design.

You can change pad composition. You will see some variation in ability to handle high temperatures, and not transfer pad material to the rotor (causing the pulsing you are feeling). At the end of the day, however, the brakes are designed to handle a certain amount of heat (power) and pushing them past that point means fixing them. The biggest variable is the driver, and your habits relating to how hard you stop, how much time you give the brakes to cool, etc.
