Really Want This!!!!!!!!!

I'm very interested in this mod and i want to know where you got the titanium "stickers" from. I really want to do this to my X5 and I would love if you can help me out with it.

I just got an A4 sheet of titanium sticker from my friends graphics company. It was just an old cut off so didnt even charge me! I then just stenciled the shape of the orange corner through a sheet of tracing paper and cut it out on the titanium sticker. I done it this way so not as to leave marks on the headlights.

So I finished my install today. Upon removing the headlights and taking out the orange bulbs. I noticed that they were a strange bulb compared to the ones I got. The original BMW bulb had a "black block" with wires molded into it at the bottom, I have never seen this type before. So I thought at this point I was going to have to see if I could get the same bulb but in silver. But as I already had the headlights out I decided that I would have a go with some silver temperature paint.
I sprayed the bulbs, all looked well and everything worked a treat!! They even light up ornage so the safety aspect is great!!
PLUS keep in mind that this mod does not involve taking the headlights apart or removing the orange corner. Its a great mod for anyone with the 2003 headlights or anyone who just doesnt want to take headlights apart! Here are some pics of mine compared to my dads, Mine is on the right.

Yea, I kinda wanna do that on my X3. I was thinking of buying the Solaris bulbs for those and possibly the front turn signal ones as well. Has anyone had experience with those bulbs?

What type of heat resistant paint did you use on these?

TIA for your reply.

Sudesh 10-25-2006 04:11 PM

I used exhaust and engine Temp paint and lightly spray coated the bulbs. But you probably wouldnt even need temp paint for all the length of time your bilnker/indicator is on!

Here are the bulb types that are in my X5. Just found these on the net!

Thanks for the quick reply. I just got rid of my 2003 ///M3 yesterday, and picked up an 03 X5. I started moddin today and was looking to change the color of these bulbs. On my old car I bought the silver vision but after seeing them, I can do the same thing with just a little paint.

Thanks for the info.
