Closing the Wheel Gap without Lowering --- Help
 

Ok, I'm finally sick and tired of the look of my X5 from the side. I have a 2002 X5 with 19" Rims and Michelin Diamaris Tires.

Rear Tire Size: 285/45/19
Front Tire Size: 255/50/19

I don't want to lower my X5, seems like a waste to me, rather I'm thinking of increasing the tire size. How much could I go? Has anyone had success with this to get rid of the ugly gap? Right now I'm pushing a 6-7 inch gap, looks horrible. Problem is I hate wasting these new Diamaris Tires (1k miles on them), I guess I could always sell them or save them. Please, any experience would be great, tire size?, brand?, reduced wheel gap by how much? Pics? etc.. would all be very helpful. Again, all help is greatly appreciated, I always like to know what I'm doing before I actually do it.

Thanks, I found his post. He added 295/45/20's (General Tire "Grabber UHP") all the way around. Since I have a 19" rim would I want to go larger than that to close the gap like his? How much would it be to recalibrate the speed? Geez, the things I do to like my ride....lol. Thanks for the help.

Should I do 20's with a little bit taller tire or keep my 19's and add a taller tire? Which would look better to the board? Thanks.

I didn't know you can recalibrate the speedometer to a larger rolling diameter. Let us know if you manage to do this.

IMO, seems like a lot of hassle just to obtain a look. You'll be affecting the suspension, braking, ABS, etc. when you change the rolling diameter.

JK, but I agree with RAYXI here, I would not mess with the rolling diameter. You could always get spacers or lower it for a 'fuller' look ....

If you are going to go through the trouble of getting new tires and you really want to improve the lok go for the 20's!!!
