Unwanted Braking?
ok , not sure what it is or if its supposed to do this. I looked and could not find anything about it on the fourm either
I have noticed that when I brake at low or any speed and let off the brake, if I am in a turn the x5 continues to brake, instead of realeasing right away, is this normal? |
Doesn't sound normal to me. I'd take it to the dealer for them to have a look...

Are you in sport mode and confusing it with engine braking?
|
It may be engine breaking, but not in sport mode, just regualr D, I will have to chekc it out again and see if its actually breaking or the engine, but feels more like the breaks are jsut continually being pressed then realease after a certian time. It seems like a feature more then a fault, but I dont know that is why I am asking.

I think your caliper is bad, have it check out.
|
is you hand break on?????? sometime its on a little bit and the break light on the cluster will not light up.
|
no I dont think its any of these, let me try to say it another way.
After I brake to slow down, I lift my foot off the pedal, but the car seems to continue to slow down, wether from braking or engine I cant tell. |
I get the same going down hill as the transmission downshifts to control the speed. If find if a trail the brake just a bit the transmission will drop a couple of gears to hold that speed (say 6th to 3rd), if I then touch the throttle again it will go up to 4th (or higher) as it doesn't think I want the engine braking any more.
Just my 0.02C worth |
maybe you in the Hill Decrease control (HDC) mode???????????
