AngeliBrights vs. Predator ICE??
 

Just wanted to get some thoughts from those of you who have tried both the angelibrights and Predator ICE units. I currently have the iBrights installed and I just received the ICE from jlevi. I wanted to see if anyone could confirm that the ICE are indeed brighter than the iBrights before I went forward with the P.I.T.A. install...thanks in advance

i heard install was a breeze on E53s and E39s

They should be roughly the same brightness - only ours is $150 cheaper and doesn't flicker. Install one side and see what you think. I think you'll like the color & appeal of our product!

Any feedback on the combo. I saw a thread that said the new AiBrights are 30% brighter than the old one and doesn't flicker.

Please advise.

We have tested, and the version you have of the iBright is indeed of equal or slightly more brightness to the ICE. Where the 30% brighter version shipping now, is well, 30% brighter.

You dont have to take my word for it, you can ask anyone that has tried both.

There may still be some issues with flickering, this is most common on X5s, but it is neither dangerous for the vehicle or the product.

Does the ICE flicker as well like the AiBrights?

No, they do not

I suppose I'm qualified to answer, considering I have both.

E53 has Predator Ice (latest version)
E63 has AngeliBrigh (early version)

Brightness
IMHO, the AngeliBrights are a tad brighter (insignificant) * I'll see if I cn get a decent side by side pic this weekend.

Blinking
They BOTH blink..
The AngeliBrights blink on both sides (it's been a while since I checked)
The Predator Ice blink on the driver side. I confirmed this tonight, without a doubt. They *may* blink on the right side, but the angle in which I was parked did not give a good view.

Ease of install
It's been a while, but the AngelIBright was very well documented and the install was uneventful. Getting to the bulbs on both cars is not an easy task (primarily the drivers side). As I posted in another thread, the Predator Ice were a huge pain in the a$$ to get snapped in place.

I am looking forward to the "updated" version of the AngeliBrights fo my E63. Blink free would be great.

The end result is too close to call, you'd likely be happy with either setup. I'm sure I'll get over it, but the fitment hassle is still fresh in my mind so if you asked for my recommendation, I'd have to say the well documented, well fitting Angelibrights would be my choice.:thumbup:

If I have the older version of the iBright, is there any deal your running for the new version? I was a pre-order customer on the first lot of iBrights. Just a thought on something you might do for your loyal customers.

good info to know. I will waiting to hear feedback on how these new Ai perform when they are in the hands of some users that have the older version.

You only forgot one thing... price difference. Predator ICE, which you state as almost exactly the same quality and output, is $150 less ;)

Well, I'd say that if you compare the two, the construction differences should also be noted.

The fitment "issue" while I understand is a bit of a "PITA" because it's off by a couple milimeters was not discovered until after shipment where the X5's smaller opening compared to other cars was finally noted. Now, if someone notifies us they have X5 we modify for you so it's easier to fit.

We appreciate your review, personally, I don't think paying more than $200 for these is sufficient.

The next version of ICE scheduled to release only 2 short months after the first - spectacularly successful initial release - and will have some very important improvements.

We also will have an actual upgrade path.

So if I order these from Jlevi, they will come "modified" specifically for the X5 to allow for easier installation?

Is that correct?

Has the flickering issue been resolved? I just installed MYCARR ones and they are not bright enough, their e46 DDEs are great though.

How about these lights..... found it on Ebay.... most people who purchase it seems to have had good results.... comes in 3 colors....
