- where 's the air pump?
- where's the car lifter? (It's instead by yellow foam)
-The battery 's in the original place, right? and when U want to check it, how?
-Do U make a new floor board? and what is the two black cable under the floor board?

Here´s a company in UK who makes LPG conversions on X5 and use a lift in order to acces to the battery withouth any need to remove the intire LPG tank.

There is a BP LPG approved installer in Inverness. Harbour road just a couple mins from the BMW dealer.:thumbup: :thumbup:

I know a few guys that have had this done to their 4x4 not a X5 though and they all suffered from crap trade in price when it came time to sell.

I reckon you would only do this if you were keeping the motor for a good few years.

Do you get allowance from Goverment for getting this done.?

1. Airpump is where the yellow foam is.
2. As I said in my first post, The battery is left in its original position, why would you want to check it, it is a sealed item? any way I did not fancy another lump on the floor and the installer has said he will remove ,fit new battery and reinstall FOC , or I'll do it myself when the need arises (Approximately every 5/6 years).
3. Don't need lifter no spare wheel carried in the well anymore.
4.
The car is fitted with a sliding floor. the cables are an integral part of it.
I am very pleased with the job, it is nice and unobtrusive, the only external give away is the second fuel filler.
I aim to keep the car for a few years ,I have just retired and am personalising the car .
Doesn't worry me about resale values, but in this day and age with all this global warning scares, any changes that we do to help the environment may help the large engine cause and I reckon that PX values will go up .
The co2 emissions are down from 15.2 to 13.1 and the hydrocarbons down from 6 to 4.
No doubt some of our more knowledgable members can explain this better than I can

That looks like not only a top conversion job and a great price too. The money savings in the long term are great however can you confirm that you are getting 35mpg on LPG as I was always under the impression that the consuption would go down slightly.

Actually, here in Portugal, there´s a reduction of 40% on tax when buying a car on LPG or any other hibrid system. Yes 40% reduction on tax, which makes the same model on LPG costing far less than the other running on petrol or gas. An X5 4.6 pays something like 31759 euros on tax here, so you would save 19055 euros which is alot of money. You´re right about the resale value but this is only due to lack of knowldge. Few years from now the market will react, and these hibrid solutions will be the future for our cars.

yip I think your right. I will not be hanging about in the 4x4 market if they raise the tax like they say they will here in the UK.:mad:
