Sound module plug

Can anyone help?
I have read the article re; fitting the sound module and understand that if you car is later than 2000 it is already wired for this mod.
My car is 2002 4.4, it has the comms pack including hands free telephone and cradle.
I cannot find the blue plug as described.
I presume it is located on the left hand side Passenger side ,UK right hand drive.
Driver side on US , LH drive cars.
On the passenger side (LH side) in the rear are the sat nav computer and the 6 cd changer. Is it in here???
Regards,
Lez Taylor

Yes I found mine behind my CD changer which I had to remove to free it.

I have had the satnav out and the cd changer and found a blue connector , but it is not the correct pinning. how do you remove the next panel in . There is a large fixing towards the front of panel which ihave attempted to remove by levering out with screwdrivers, but it won't come out .

Thats the one I used works fine, with Module - part number 84416915047.

before you get the panel off it might help if you look from behind the end rear seat panel first. lift the bench seat first then just pull that end panel of the upright seat its just clipped in. Then have a look for the connector.

My sound module p/no is 84.41-6 913 352.9.
It has a double bank of 13 very small /slim pins. 26 pins in total
the blue plug I found is nothing like this pinning arrangement

Did you get that number from the How to's on the home page? Did you check it against your car with your dealer, (as its a UK spec the wiring can be different) or just buy that? Is your connector the same as the How to's ie the same as the E39's or is it different? Have you got a pic?

I really dont know what to say to help I just didnt use that part I asked my dealer who gave me the part number I said above.

I just did a search but I cant find your part on BMW real oem under Euro X5's.

Hi Pete,
I got all the info from the diy install voice recognition module from this site x5world 01 09 2006 it is highlighted in'' articles''
My module is exactly the same number as the one shown, and the plug that is shown has the same pinning arrangement to fit the module BUT I think you may have hit on the problem.
This was written for a US X5 and I had the module flown in from the US.
SO perhaps the european plug is different.
Regards,
Lez

I havent got any access to a camera etc at the moment but if you can take a pic of yours and I will tell you if its the same as mine. So at least you can narrow down the possible answer.

Does ANYONE know what this plug does

Does ANYONE know what the plug in the picture above is for? My 2004 X5 (Australian Delivered) has two - one behing the CD changer and one on the other side of the car below the fuse panel.

Perhaps they are for the switches in the back of the car that control electric rear seat adjustment (if fitted)?

Luke
