The sound gets even better. We picked up torque and hp. You will get a slightly snappier throttle based on what we saw on the 540.
I will be doing this to the X5 soon. Changing anything after cats will generally not hurt torque. The cats create all the back pressure that the system needs for street torque. If you are catless, that is a different situation all together. RGX5 is right in 99% of the cases. You cannot create HP when changing from one efficient exhaust to another, you just move the curve, as discussed. I would really like to comment on the Dinan comment in more detail, but I will leave it with this. Dinan is NOT endorsed by BMW. Some independently owned BMW dealerships sell Dinan (some also sell evosport, RD, ACS, etc). Those dealerships also service a Dinan warranty (as they do with evosport, RD, ACS, etc). Don't believe, call BMW NA and ask! Just want to clear that up. I am not commenting on the quality or value of the products (being politically correct here), but I feel that I need to clear this up, as people are making buying decisions based on incorrect information. As for aftermarket X5 exhaust, I would stick with Eisenmann as the best off the shelf system out there. The Superspring makes maybe a lil more power and torque (especially with their x-pipe), however, we dropped the line due to a LOT of unpaid warranty claims and premature failures. Buyer beware! Anyone can search M3forum or bimmerforums for the history of this. I would be carefull with Remus, they have a history of rusting out (this may have been addressed, but we saw a lot of it). ACS X5 exhausts are made by Remus. The maganflow mufflers are the best bang for the buck if you want to have a local shop do a custom system for you (same design as Supersprint, less $! Thanks Brad |

Regarding the exhaust, I didn´t know supersprint had a X pipe for X5!! Did the X pipe gave any problems on this model? What are those stories you´re talking about? I would be interested to see pics and detailed info about supersprint X pipe if you have any. Do you know if the Remus exhaust gives any Torque or Hp? Thanks in advance  J.Seven |

Ok, I just found the X pipe made by supersprint, here´s the link with pics.
http://www.supersprint.com/homeuk.htm I have already a custom made X pipe, but it´s not made from stain still, and I believe with time it will rust. I was thinking on buying this supersprint X pipe. otoupalik, do you think it will work fine with the Remus exhaust I´ve already installed? V8 4.4L we´re talking about. J.Seven |

Its been a while. Hope all is good over there in sunny California. I miss it a whole lot. You guys finally dumped supersprint:cheer: Thats a good thing. Im just waiting for my headers to crack on the m3. Any day now...lol. The 4.8 is amazing. Me and my mom dumped every penny we had into my dad's new Bday present (Conti GT). It arrives on the 20th of this month, so i sorta jacked his X5 a bit early. He doesnt mind though. Considering he didnt have to pay a penny for his new toy:D Edit: Forgot to mention how much i miss those track days with you guys at willow springs. Good times man....good times. |
dude - sweet! (in my best Ashton voice)
Hey - fly back anytime, we have these cars all available for rent: e30 m3, e36 M3, e46 M3 and e90 325. All are race cars! Glad to hear all is well, it has been a long time! Simon was supposed to visit his family in B-town, but the hostilities kept him from going. =^( Thanks Brad |
