New to the X5 world...
 

Hi all-

My wife and I just put down a $1k deposit today for a 4.6is X5 (Silver/black), we've wanted one for quite sometime and finally found a dealer that traded one in recently. :thumbup:

The car has 55,000 miles on it and everything checks out saying the car has always been good to go. Should I be concerned about the milage on the car? It's an '03, it has navigation, leather, heated front/back seats and an aftermarket rear Clarion rear DVD unit installed.

Congrats! Great choice on your X5. 55K is not high at all assuming proper maintenance has been done.

The dealer assures me the background to this car has a pleasant history and was taken care of properly. I laid down the deposit sight unseen - scary I know but I've been having trouble finding one for the past 5 months in the price range I wanted to pay. I finally found one and pulled the trigger :)

I'll upload some pictures when I go grab it (next week sometime).

So, what's the highest milage for a 4.6is on this forum??

Not many of us with stock X5's around here. Let the mods begin, any questions ask the Ladies and Gents around here they have been very helpful over the last 19 months I've been hanging around.

Good question. 4.6's are the rarest type of X5 so there is not near as many of them here. Not sure who has the highest mileage 4.6.

Okay.... what are the top 5 mods?
