Well did you feel a handling difference? Mod looks pretty hot! Will it work with older model E53s?

When you corner hard, which is something I try to avoid doing, you'll feel less body roll. The eBay seller claims it'll fit 00-06 X5's. See auction below.

How does it install? Did you have to modify the bar to fit it in properly?

wow! for some reason i get this picture in my head that if the x5 is making a really sharp turn it'd tip over... on the other hand i think the x5 is an work of art perhaps the engineers already thought of that.

Bro when i picked up my x5 at teh performance center Iwas amazed at what the X5 is capable of. It would extremely difficult to flip one. The instructor did a few 180s and 360s on dry track. I thought it was gonna tip for sure and for sure it did not. I cant even imagine what you would have to do to flip an x5.

The bar does not need to be modified. The round brackets on each end, of the bar are pre-drilled to fit exactly over the strut towers and accomodate the bolts.

I got one too, but was somewhat disappointed with it. I have to say that this bar is mostly for look over function since you can see the flex on the bar itself if you press down a bit on it at the center (to see it better, give the center of the bar a good tap and it will vibrate. A rigid bar will NOT do that). Frankly, I'm not sure how that's gonna support the strut tower when the bar itself doesn't seem like it's up to the task of being a rigid beam. The bar is also a tight fit over the hood as it does touch and compress some of the insulation materials (a tiny bit).

Yup. Like I said, some of us get them to dress up the engine bay. The handling of my X5 with sport package and 20's already more than meets my expectations. :)
