Pretty Pretty Pretty PRETTY GOOD !

It looks great like the painter bumper but not sure about the grill, the typical Kidney grill says BMW.

Fr0zty 11-12-2006 10:04 PM

Your a baller, how do you open your hood and where did you get your strut grill

Did you replace the engine type emblem on the side with a different decal? :)

Thanks For The Comments

Thanks for the comments. Due to a previous "accident" my front bumper had to be replaced and the insurance company wouldn't reimburse me for an ac schnitzer front bumper, so i got the oem one and had that painted. my rear bumper is ac schnitzer though. The hood is latchless and i just have to "pop it
" and open it. The decals on the side of the car are the DUB 22" decals for my 22" TIS03 wheels that i put on in the summer. Also, somebody asked where i got the strut grille from, i got it from STRUT, but it was custom fabricated to fit the X5 because they don't make a grille package for the X5, but for a little extra cash they agreed to do it. They do make packages for the 7 series though and i bought the full package for my 760li which you can see on www.strutwear.com

What's involved with painting the lower section of the front bumper? Anything special?

You have to have it sanded and filled to be smooth like the rest of the car, and then have it painted to match. A lot of labor is required from what my body shop guy told me.

Thanks!!!

Thank You all for the comments! I have a set of universal weld-on vertical door hinges in my garage and i am thinking of putting them on the X. i cant put them on the 760li or mb s500 because they both have the "vacuum" doors so i wanted to put them on the truck. What are yoyr opinions??? These are not cheap old lambo doors, they are top of the line. i paid a lot for them and i dont want to see them just sitting in the garage.

E61Silver 11-13-2006 09:21 PM

"The hood is latch less and i just have to pop it"

Sound a little dangerous, if the hood is not closed properly it may pop open when go down the highway.

no, it was also reinforced with another lock.

drew 11-13-2006 10:50 PM

has the front fender been painted??? the color seems off from the door to fender.

Fr0zty 11-13-2006 11:48 PM

Yeah put those lambo doors on and take pix asap thats sweet

wees1234 11-15-2006 09:18 PM

i dont know if its "worth it" though. people tell me to put them on and i think it may be too "blingy" and may affect the funder and door rubbing together when opening.

wees1234 11-16-2006 02:18 PM

i want to find out if the door and fender will rub, and if the lambo door kit works fine then i'm just gonna go ahead and install it.

dr.jay 11-16-2006 03:55 PM

Dude thats one nice X, I like the grill, as for the vert doors I would pass, its just my opinion but do whatever you please it will probably look sick. Although the doors on the X5 feel like they weigh 500 lbs a piece, you may have an issue there

the head 11-16-2006 04:11 PM

A friend of mine had Lambo style doors on his Denali the only thing is it is a little ackward getting into the vehicle in a 4 door because the opening is smaller and the door definately takes up some of that real estate

are you planning on doing both front and rear doors lambo style?

wees1234 11-18-2006 12:45 AM

i plan on doing the two front doors. i already have the doors done on my fathers 07' Escalade and i figured that they wouldnt look to bad on the X so i went and purchased a universal kit from vertical doors inc. because they dont make an X5 model kit. now im havin doubts about putting them on and i dont know if they are "worth" it in the long run.
