Skid plate

My skid plate just arrived at my friend's place. He still has to ship it to me. He sent me a picture and it's colored silver already. Does this need to be painted?

I want it in silver, i've seend a lot of people in this forum having the silver skid plates. Did you guys paint it again?

I believe the silver is just primer - but not 100% sure. You'll be able to tell by looking at it when you see it in person. I'm sure someone else here can answer for sure...

The skid plate comes in a light gray color ready to paint. Meaning you don't have to prepare the surface prior. I got one and painted it with special primer so the paint would really stick to that plastic, added a few coats of the paint followed by the clear-coat. I spent less than $10 using "Dupli-Color" brand spray paint from the local auto parts. So far, the paint has held on very well without any peels or chips. My X is black but instead of painting the skid plate to match the vehicle color, I matched it up to the color of my grill and hood titanium vents. But heck, if you're happy with the color as is, then no need to paint it. :)
