Does this rear bumper "lip" fit onto my car or is it only for later model X5's?

That was an 03 or older X, Kirk. I could tell by the front fascia and headlights.

so is that "lip" an add on to the bumper or is it a whole new back bumper all together? my x is an 03...

I guess they really like silver X5s in that complex. You can make a good comparison in that last pic.

That was my lowly 01 in the background, it was at a shopping center, just happened to be coincidence.

Kirk, I think this is the BMW aero kit. Maybe the online parts catalog on the home page might be of help?

As JV indicated, it is the BMW aero kit. The rear spoiler should fit all years of the X5, as there has been no changes made there.

I'm not sure if you can just buy the rear bumper or if you have to buy the entire kit.

I could be wrong, but I think you have to buy the whole thing... From what I've seen, it looks like the side section integrates into the front and rear bumpers so it wouldn't work. Again, i could be wrong.
