If you mean battery as something separtely replacable, perhaps not, like old remote. They're many chips out there not requiring those, i.e. My HOA fobs...
Mobil express fob, I don't know the exact name, some smart cards. They don't need batteries... If anyone know the details let me know. I am curious to know.

The smart card uses a serial interface and receives its power from external sources like a card reader.

The other fobs all react inductively with the transponder at the register. The key actually send out different signals via radio waves to interact with the door lock module to perform the different functions. For that it requires a power source such as a battery or high charge cap.

Are you talking about the pay at the pump gas tags? Those are passive RFID tags. They use the RF signal from the pump to power it's own circuits and sends back a reply. This is not how our keys work.

Hi me again.

I see there has been a lot of talk over the battery.

I would like to ask someone a question.

1. If the key will start the car as normal but dos not open the car bye remote control then is this still a Reprogrammingthing? Has any one had a similar problem to me? As this is my problem.
