Tires

I bought my 2002 X5 only a month or so back and a quick check at time of inspection revealed the tires were OK but when I had them rotated and balanced, one tire was not wearing correctly and one was dry-rotted. When I priced replacements for the two Michelins, I was quoted about $275 each. Since I had replaced Michelins on a Mercedes ML 320 with Toyo Proxes and was really pleased, I opted to replace all four tires on my X5 with Toyos. Total of about $600 for four including lifetime rotating and balancing and road hazard. I feel the ride is smoother, "grip" is better, and noise level is quieter. I recommend Toyos when it is time to replace tires. Also, I kept the two best Michelins and would sell them if someone is interested. Michelin 235/65/R17 MVX 4 plus with about 60-70% life. I will email pictures if interested.
Thanks,
Bob

Did you go with the identical size of Toyo?

Yes, I thought about going wider, but felt there might be the possibility of rubbing. Also, since you are in a snow zone, and I am not, I would do some more checking with cold weather experts.
