Please help!
Well I have recently discovered this forum and found it to be the best for X5 users. I recently purchased an X5 2003 and Love the drive. Few days back I noticed that back tire is loosing air.Took the car to the Tire Shop but they couldnot repair it due to the Lock on the wheel!. Tried to find the key every where, looked up the owners manual but no luck. Can anyone help me in this regard, where can I get the Key for the wheels?. Thanks!

Go to a BMW shop, if not the dealer. BMW wheel locks use a very small set of "keys" and usually good after-market shops (and dealers) will have keys in stock and can take a wheel off for you. As for getting your own key, you will have to find out first which one you need by finding a key.
A shop in my area carries a full set (almost) of BMW wheel lock keys for that exact problem. Sadly there isn't a simple "look up" table that I know of. |
Places to be sure to look:
Glove box (just makng sure ;) ) Console storage compartment Door pockets (both sides) Rear access panels (both sides) Spare Tire Compartment Ash Trays If none of the above, short of contacting the prior owner for assistance, I agree with the advise of going to a BMW dealer and seeing if they can help you out. |
Thanks For the guidance.I talked with the BMW dealership, they will replace the locks!!
