Break pad sensor instalation!!!!
Can somebody tell me step by step with pics how to install the rear break sensor? Do I need to remove the caliper? I want to do it my self.....
Thanks:) |
I hope this is after brake pad replacement otherwise there's no point.
You can see the slot in the pad where the sensor goes when the wheel is off. You don't need to mess with the calipers. It's a friction fit so all you need are needle nose pliers. Have you checked the DIY section for pics? [edit] found some for you from hayaku's DIY http://www.xoutpost.com/images/articles/196/15.sized.jpg http://www.xoutpost.com/images/articles/196/16.sized.jpg |
The pads are replace, but I just realize that for the brake light to go out you need to replace the sensor..... sorry my first BMW.......
Thanks for your help. |
It's very easy to do. Just trace the lead from the rotors back to the box they plug into. Unplug the old, plug the new one in and then rerun he new wire following the original path. It's really that easy.

Once the brake assembly is apart, it's easy and doesn't require any more direction than what's posted on the site. I changed mine when I did my brakes and it was a breeze.
