My X saved my ass

So I was coming back late from a party tonight in the country side of North Carolina. Driving fast on a straight and empty country road and following the nav instructions to get back home. Some type of low profile sporty car was following me. I was not sure what car it was as it was very dark and I could not recognize the car from its head lights in the mirror. The nav was showing that I was arriving on a curve which did not look that sharp at all on the nav screen. Just before entering the curve I shifted down a gear and slowed down a little bit (I always use steptronic on country road) but the damn curve was very sharp, much much sharper than I anticipated. I shifted another gear down while braking and then reaccelerated and the X managed to stay on the road but I must recognize that I scared myself on this one. I was obviously going too fast on this small country road. Anyway, I looked at my mirror to see how the following car was doing. I did not see any light so I figured something happened to him. I pulled over and ran to see how he was. Sure enough the guy had missed the curve and kept going straight to finally landed in a field. The guy did not seem to be injured but the Camaro was obviously totaled. I called 911 and wait for the police to come. I told them what I saw, gave my address and phone number and left happy to have been driven an X5. My X saved my ass on this one, no question about it.

Dont trust the Nav to be accurate all the time.

While the X helped, it was you that made the best use of what was available - One "Attaboy" for your good thinking and looking out for the other guy - Merry Christmas

Wow. Very scary! SUV makes the turn but a sportscar doesn't!

I heart BMW!
