Ride Height...lopsided

Hi
quick question...

everytime i looked at the X5 parked in the garage, it looked abit lopsided...and i figured its the ground uneven.
so parked it out today...looked the same, and i measured it. (from center hub to the bottom of the fender trim.

turns out the passenger rear sits 1/2 inch higher than the driver side. Can the dealer adjust this?
the fronts are off 1/4 inch too.

thanks
franklin

Do you have ride height adjustment? If so, start up the car and measure again. If it evens out with the engine running, it might point to a slow leak in the airbag of your suspension.

i have rear air suspension...so that might be it. i"ll try it in the morning.
thanks

Might be a ride-height sensor..common cause for this problem. The dealer should be able to take care of this.

Was this ever fixed?

Mine had the same problem and the dealer fixed a sensor now its fine.

My dealer has been having a problem finding the problem on mine. They said that a sensor was not providing any readings. They replaced it. Seemed fine for a week and the problem came back. The front passenger is always 1/4" to 1" lower than the driver front side. Sometimes in the morning the front suspension is all the way deflated until I turn the car back on.

The dealer now says if the problem comes back again they may have to replace the "module", it seems like a lot of trial and error while my wallet is being eaten up. The passenger side suspension airbag does seem more worn than the driver side, I think that might be it. I am going to take to a independent mechanic that works on x5's and what he can do.

I'm trying to get the same issue resolved, and my dealer says they can't repir the problem unless they can duplicate it. It's getting very frustrating...especially since it is still under warranty.

I experienced the same problem and it was a leak in one of the air suspension bags. I had to replace the air spring strut (front, left, part number 37116761443). Warranties expire in two years time down here, my X5 has only 36K kms. The part by itself cost me US$1,300 :(

Pelican has the part for $778, but I refuse to pay for something they should fix under warranty.
