HELP...2005 TCU Module clarification

Can anyone help me sort this out.

I have an '04 X5 with Assist and Nav, after posting to forums, reading responses and speaking to "BMWNA this week", I was finally resolved to buying TCU # 84-11-6-946-993 with an MSRP of $440. This tcu was the module that would allow me to link a Bluetooh phone and maintain Assist in a 2004 MY (3-04 build).

Since various forums reference Crevier BMW as a wholesale parts source, I contacted them and inquired about the part.

Crevier informs me that the 84-11-6-946-993 is discontinued and is replaced with 84-10-6-964-114 CONTROL UNIT @ $550.00. I called BMWNA back and they still give me the -993 control???????????? WHO'S RIGHT//

I've got a call into my local dealer and am waiting for a confirmation call on this, I thought someone out there might know the answer, and that this information will be helpful to somone else.

THANKS........CONFUSED

The part number ending in -114 is the updated module and has replaced the module ending in -993. It's very likely that the 993 modules are still in inventory in the warehouse and/or at many BMW dealers.

See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...icle&artid=171 for part number history of the BMW ULF's.
