Hello Andy. It is on a 4.4. Would it make a difference?

It should not make a difference on 4.4 versus 3.0. How bumpy or stiff it will ride is somewhat subjective and a matter of what you can tolerate and even a function of where you live. For example, some people do not like 19 or 20" wheels in NYC where roads can be very bad but others don't mind it. The bigger issue that might affect ride would be whether you have Sport Package suspension or not and/or Adjustable Ride Height.

Personally, I have 19" wheels on my 3.0 with Sport Package suspension and it is a firm ride but not uncomfortable. I appreciate the handling of the Sport Package and the 19" wheels and tires so the occasional jolt is worth it.

So to answer your question, there are a handful of choices for tires in 20". Michelin Diamaris are OEM from BMW. There are also Toyo Proxes ST, Pirelli Scorpion Zero, Yokohama Advans, and Michelin Latitudes. There are some others but these are the main ones people tend to go with.
