iWindows

On E46 Fanatics I saw a banner for a thing called iWindows... It makes it so you can not only roll down the windows using your key, but you can roll them up. That's one thing I'd really like to be able to do. Has anyone heard of this? Here's the link. What do you think?

I've heard of bad experiences with TVonNav, but I'm sure Ucrew can hook you up with Parag. It's a pretty cool device, but I'm pretty sure it requires splicing some wires, and so on, which wouldn't be good for warranty. But don't quote me on the splicing of the wires.

I don't like this caveat at all, "Pinch protection is *not* active when putting up windows". That could be a HUGE liability issue for you. Let's see Verbalkint chime in on the potential law suits that would follow an unfortunate mishap where you rolled it up on an unsuspecting passenger that had his hand in the window opening prior to you activating. That would void the warranty bigtime. Have you not learned your lesson yet Joel? Buy an exhaust and some cool wheels and forget about the gizmo tech stuff.

Just my 2¢

Joel - it's a gadget that may have application in certain situations. If I still had my M3 convertible, though, what I would be all over is the iTop module, which lets you put the top and windows up and down using your factory remote (BMW's programming only allowed you to put the top and windows down using the remote). Being able to remotely put the top and windows up would have come in handy a few times for me.

I am confused. My European 05 X5 does this already. Is it a European thing not offered to the colonies?

Here, you can only roll down the windows with the key, you can't roll them up.

CJ: I'm w/SuperGreg...you're wringing hands and searching for magic bullets. Enjoy your car: wheels, exhaust, whatever.

I hope you go into MedResearch or something sim., when you get outta the U: with your tenacity and nittygritty rock turning over, I may still get to live to be 80. BR,md
