Warranty/CPO question

Since just buying my X5 I have a question. My salesperson said if I purchased the 100k warranty my brake pads and rotors would be replaced for free, of course in addition to oil changes etc. He explained how the 4.6 was going to be rough on brakes and they would have to be replaced often. (Pads). I bought the warranty but have heard conflicting stories on the warranty relating to brakes. My question is are they covered under the warranty?
After reading some of the articles on this site I am more confused.

This is what I found.....

I don't think the brakes PADS are covered, call your local dealer and ask!

Sweetbimmer 01-03-2007 12:19 AM

Yeah that would probably be the easiest way just wanted to make sure the dealer wasnt lying about it after reading these articles.

BTW, where its says not covered on body and interior and discusses "water leaks" is BS. My friend has a 2002 CPO and it was covered when the drain tubes from the sunroof leaked and poured water in his car. Also covered where is airbag lights which came on for no reason.

Brakes, rotors and oil changes are NOT covered under the extended warranty or CPO. You need the "extended maintenance" to cover brakes and oil changes.

I think when brakes is referenced as "covered" by the CPO it means the braking system, not the pads/rotors.
