Gas/Oil/Tires Recommendations
Hey guys, since most of you are the experts on my new purchase...I wanted to get a couple of questions answered. I just got a 2003 4.4 X5 with sport.
1. What kind of gas should I use? 93/31 octane? 2. How often should I get my oil replaced? What oil do you recommend? 3. How often should I get my tires rotated? The key is to keep my machine in top running condition. Also, if you can think of any other items that I need to watch out for, I would greatly appreciate it. |
UtDev,
1-The gas issue has been beaten to a pulp: 91, 89, run what cha brung, that your car seems to run well on, imo. 2-If you are leasing, go with the green lights and let the next car enjoy the CPO the Stlr tags it with...if you own it and, expect to go past 50k miles in ownership, most here do an "in between" oil&filter change, eg every 7500 miles or, at least once per year. 3-BMW does not rec'd tire rotation; some here have done "side to side" but not sure what benefit. -add'l: you may want to do a brake fluid change; it's time. Keep your eye on your coolant level, coolant reservoir and water pump. If it hasn't had front pads & rotors r&r'd, those will come up on the jukebox in future. Do some noodling on the Search Tab and on the front page index: there is an encyclopediac breadth of info here. GL,mD |
