Just curious about windshield heating
 

On the ACC panel there is one button at the top right position that is called "To defrost windows and remove condensation" that clears the windshield very fast when car is cold. Does anyone know how it works? Does it use an electrical heater to get warm air to the windshield or do the system direct coolant fluid directly from the engine to get warmer air quicker to this function? It seems to work so fast that it must be more than just the full blast of the fan that does the work.

That's a looooooooooong name for a button. I don't think I have this one. Regardless, I'm guessing that it also activates your A/C compressor to help dry the air...

Any chance you could show us a pic of this button with the long name?

It's just a window deforster. It redirects warm air from your vents to the vents at the bottom of your windshield.

It's just that it is SOOO much faster and more effective than any other car I've ever seen, Maybe it's just the AC suggested that dries the air, but I'm talking freezing temperatures whith the windshield covered with mist-ice inside. A plain cold air air-blowing fan could not (I believe) be this effective. And the engine temperature gauge is still on blue when the windshield clears.
Just wondering if anyone has detailed info or experience (sorry to bother about a "just curious" question".

On my old '01, that button produces a very forceful rush of
a/c derived "dry air", and as long as that air is above freezing,
it nails the fogging in a heartbeat.

Actually, it took me a weekish when we first got the car,
to figure out how to use "normal fan speed defrost" instead
of that wind tunnel effect. Sumbitch works, though.
