Engine Speed

I have a 2002 X5 3.0i with automatic tranny. I have a funny feeling that the engine is running a little too fast. For example, at 70 mph, the tach shows 2500 rpm. Level freeway. How does this compare with your rpm's at 70 mph.
Thanks,
Bob

I think thats about normal, you have a 5 speed auto, in my 6 speed 70mph is 2k rpm, in my mercedes with a 5 speed auto, 70 mph is ~2600/2700, so I wouldn't worry about it

normal for 5 speed

I have a 6 speed V8 and it registers 2250 rpm at 70 mph so 2500 is not bad.

Man, that would be great. In the 5-sp manual 70mph is around 3400rpm.
