"DOOR OPEN" issue

I washed my car and drove around pretty much all night without this msg coming up.
The next morning my X is parked in the garage and I hear my alarm going off?
So Im thinking, "What the fuck is it going off for"
I didn't notice anything.
So now I'm driving and in my cluster is says "Door Open"
I check all the doors and nothing is open.

I'm gonna bring it into the dealer's tmw but I want to know if this has happened to anyone else?

Have you tried closing the door? :nanana:
Sorry, I have absolutely nothing useful to add, but had to say something to that title. Carry-on.

Could be a latch issue, but if none of the doors is lighting up on the dash display, it's probably an issue with the control module. The dealer can tell for sure.

I'm having the EXACT same problem. The "door open" keeps lighting up on the dash and the interior lights turn on as if I've opened the door, all for no reason. Just tonight, I parked my car and while walking away the alarm went off. As did you I double and triple checked ALL my doors and hatch gates to make sure they were secured! I even inspected the latch mechanisms with a flashlight to see if there wasn't any debris lodged in them. Have you resolved your issue yet, sdogg? If so, what did the dealer say?

Its funny. The message has never come back.
I couldnt quite put my hand on what it was.
I didn't bother going to the dealer after because it went away.

Could be a faulty sensor. Sometimes if the battery
is low I've read these faults can also occur.

funny you say that becuase i noticed it happens only when its really cold outside and when i start the car, the starter cranks slow so i know the battery is low. Could be the battery low issue causing this.

The constant tripping of the car alarm forced me to keep one door unlocked to prevent po'd neighbors and the draining of the battery. I took my car in to the stealer to see what they could find. I'll post any solutions they may (or may not) come up with. One pattern I noticed while driving the car was that when stopped at a light, the "door open" would turn off. It's only when I would accelerate from stop and actually drive the car that the "door open" warning would trip. Otherwise, when parked and armed, the interior lights would flicker on/off and eventually trip the alarm. What a headache!

I had a problem with the alarm going off by itself. exept my problem was the hood switch to the alarm. seems it has a tendancy to go bad...
here was my original thread
