Actually we have contemplated something along these lines, whereby contributing members will get additional perks such as more web space for gallery photos, a custom title (founders club?), an xoutpost.com email address with web access and POP access, etc....

Other thoughts and ideas are most welcome on this. I don't want people to feel like that they have to donate. Contributing knowledge and friendship is more important to me. But by the same token I also believe there should be some sort of recognition/reward for those that do financially support the site and help keep the bills paid :thumbup:

Always a good thing to do. I am one of the administrators of a large forum. We have quite a few perks that we offer users. Web mail, files space as well as specialty areas always make users feel "part of the family!" :thumbup:

Hmmm...this would seem like a good topic. I would be totally up for donating to this site. But at the same time I think Jeff brings up a good point. It is much more important to have a contribution of knowledge and friends. After all these are the things that make this board shine compared to others...But that is not to say that creating an inner circle is a bad thing. I believe that the current members of this board would have no problem donating...after all it is to a good cause...well just my personal thoughts anyways. :)

Well, I donated for two reasons:

1. I felt it was important to help support the site.
2. I have NO other contribution to make. I have literally NO knowledge (X5-related, or otherwise, for that matter) to bring to this table; I have, however, TAKEN a lot of knowledge. So, I felt I should contribute financially.

How about moding vBulletin so that once a user donates his/her username color changes! (I.E Donated members nicks are in orange, or something like that) or add a rank to the avatar. Simple mods yet quite effective.... just my 2c worth!

I have a vast server, which was just upgraded. It's a dual Xeon 3.06 GHZ with a gig of RAM, 600GB of monthly bandwidth, and a 40GB HD.

If X5world ever needs to spill over its brim, I can host anything for free. There's already a member here on X5world (http://car.dsindustries.com) to whom I have granted free hosting.

If the need ever arises, simply shout out.
