OBD Resistor Question
 
Hello All,

I was detailing the interior of my 2003 X5 today and noticed that the OBD cover has a resistor attached (in a socket) to the outside of the cover.

Does anyone know what the function of this resistor on the OBD cover is? What happens when the resistor is removed?
