Pdc

Hello everyone,

the PDC in my x5 no longer works. When i back up...it makes a 3 second beep sound and then the light on the pdc button just flashes. Did I accidentally turned it off or something? anyone have an answer to this annoying problem? Thanks in advance

Mair

maybe one of your sensors got disconnected or busted
check each one, turn pdc on first, then put your ear next to each one and your hand in the way, you should hear it buzz if it works, then go from there

You'll need to pop the sensor out of the bumper and make sure the connector is securely fastened to the PDC sensor. If not, then you'll need a multimeter to check the wiring for continuity between the sensors.

The PDC uses multiple circuts...is there anything else in the car that is not working?

Mine wasn't working as will so I did that you said and one sensor on the front and one on the back are not working (no buzzzz sound). So can you fix it without removing bumers (I got aerokit)?

could a malfunction to one or two PDC sensors trip all of them to go out.. ive checked my fuse and its okay

Sedoy 02-09-2007 07:18 PM

if one is bad, whole system won't work.

The problem in question is actually mentione in the Owners Manual as a common misorder. Look on page 92 (2004).

In my case it took a replacement of 2 sensors to make it work.

:iagree:

I know, it was just to let you know that it is a common problem, and you are not alone.

The standard answer in any manual is to go to the dealer, I wonder why.;)

Good luck by solving the problem!

I just bought a 2002 X5 & when I put it in reverse it constantly beeps & I have to push the PDC button to make it stop. Very annoying!!! From the posts above it looks like something is not working. Can I just disconnect it? & how? (This is my 1st post not just on this site but ever!!!)
thanks fo any help!

As Eurosport stated, put your ear very close next to each sensor you should hear buzzzz-sound if it works. If you hear nothing - probably sensor is bad or connection or wire or fuse (maybe)... I found two bad sensors.
