Angel Eye Mod on 2003 X5 4.4
 

I took the lights apart today, and it looked alot different then the pix posted iin the how to sections. and seems like theres extended portion behind the light it self, bulb and housing seem permantly attached to the light? Not sure if all x5s have this.. but mine has auto adjusting lights, is that what it is?

I wanna do this mod, wuts up, any helpppppppppp :(

You must have an early prod date 03, as most are unable to be opened.

No problem, that's what all this knowledge is here for. Normally folks with an 03 model will buy pre-03 headlights so that they can do the mod. Usually can be found on ebay, not sure of prices though, or how bad you want to do this mod.

damn, i want angel eyes :( not even angel eyes so much, i just want to get ride of the ugly covers around the lenses..

it's near the weatherstripping on your headlight...

it looks like a clock. it points to the month and the year is in the middle :thumbup:

had my old ones replaced for condensation last march...dammit...the dealership wouldn't let me keep them :rolleyes:

well checked the lights and...... in the circle it says 03.. and points to 2. Means its not moddable? :'(

seems unlikely...you can purchase used lamps...or just live with the ones you have now...

damn :( why did bmw have to screw us 03 owners lol...

yeah...but it's still possible to install them. there's a shop mentioned on this site where you send them in your headlights, and they'll have it fitted for you...

but it may take a long time, and you can't drive without headlights...:rofl:

Guess I was a lucky one, 2003 with 5/02 headlights in it.

wow...my car was a 5/02 production...

they must make these headlights far in advance
