Crankcase Seal?
 

I just wanted to know two things. Where can I find in Real OEM this part. And what is it? Thanks... I think my car might need this changed also. Warranty didn't want to change it at the time it was in for the oil sep. They said because of all the oil spilled all over the place, they felt they wanted to see if it would leak after. :confused: Well today I saw some dark oil on the floor of my garage, I say dark because I had my oils changed since I lost a lot of oil at the time of damage. I'm going to keep an eye on it for a couple of days and if it continues to leak, I'm going to take it back per my service guy's request. Good news is I'm covered, I also hear it is a big job. I'm thinking older oils from the damage ( I just got it back from the repair too) But I need to know if anyone has any idea, please let me know so that when and if I go there for this, I will have a piece of mind as to what is going to happen. Crankcase seal...there isn't a..the crankcase seal. The major ones on the crankcase are the oil pan seal, rear main seal, headgasket, crankshaft seals, oil separator seal.

I meant the rear main seal....

And the crankcase seal, is this the same gasket as the rear main seal...

What do you mean is this the same gasket? A gasket is different from a seal.

Rear-main seal is pretty big job. They have to drop the transmission and take off the flywheel to get to it.

It is the rear main seal. Sorry, I'm not to savy with the technical words...

Is this problem common? I have to follow this problem for a few days and see if it is truly leaking or is it just the old oils from the damage that happened last week... I'll keep you posted, thanks Vinu....

Not a common problem. If it's the rear main seal, it should be leaking from where the engine meets the transmission. Wipe of the old oil, and get underneath and check that spot priodically.
